“Every garden is my home”
“My migration is a forever quest; living and travelling in different places looking for that feeling of belonging, a ghost of a home that is no more; what was left behind. Home, like nature, is vulnerable, fluid and fragile. It is not always a place we can return to, but what we carry within us as an emotional and material condition. It is memory, a feeling, a lived experience. I paint the in-between state of the material and immaterial feeling of home.”

Spring Magnolia
Painted during an early spring residency at La Mortella, this work captures a magnolia tree just as its buds began to open. Over a single warm painting session, the flowers changed visibly, turning the moment into a quiet study of unfolding life.
Telanthophora Grandiflora
Painted over several months at Serre de la Madone garden, this life-size flower study follows the plant from opening to full maturity. Dense yellows and deep greens build a layered sense of time, growth, and abundance.
Canna Lilies in Autumn at Ninfa
Fall color and shadow meet across one of Ninfa’s streams. Orange foliage, dark rooted leaves, and lightly suggested background forms create depth and a sense of the garden expanding beyond the canvas.
Agave Salmiana and Cypress
High on the slopes of Hanbury Gardens, the once-in-thirty-years agave bloom becomes the axis of the composition. Cypress trees frame the yellow-green flower, while the garden drops away toward the sea.
Ferocactus and Lavender
A vertical, life-size composition from Hanbury Gardens that sets the strong forms of cactus against the softer presence of lavender. The imaginary color and physical scale give the painting a bold, almost sculptural character.

Painted onsite at Villa Eilenroc, this large composition sets delicate pink and yellow roses against the unexpected warmth of a brick-red hothouse. Loose brushwork and moments of detail hold the garden between structure and bloom.
Koi Pond at Sherman Gardens
Reflections, dark water, and flashes of orange fish create a quiet choreography inside the greenhouse at Sherman Gardens. The painting began from quick sketches and one phone photograph, then found its movement in the studio.
