Early Fall 2025

Dear Friends and collectors,

It has been a very busy summer for me in Europe. I opened my solo show at the Municipal Library, in the spectacular building le Palais d’Europe, in central Menton in southern France This active city library receives over 10,000 visitors a year and is keeping in my artistic vision of bringing my artwork to the public. The opening was well attended by city officials and the work was displayed for about two months.

The highlight of my summer was painting at La Mortella garden on the island of Ischia. Although there was crushing heat, I was fortunate to paint outdoors on a shady terrace and studio provided by the garden director and friend Alessandra Vinciguerra. This garden has recently been added to the registry of the UK Royal Horticultural Society and is a must-see venue when visiting the Neapolitan region of southern Italy.

I complete a series of 11 pastels, all on tinted paper. Summer light provided the intensity of the colors that only the best quality dry pastel material can achieve; I was in my element! I sold five of these; please inquire about other pieces for sale.

I returned to California in late August for a few weeks to care for my beautiful mother who is doing well, before returning to Europe in three weeks to take up residence in Venice! Life continues at a my usual pace as I prepare for two upcoming exhibitions in California. Follow me on Insta for more regularly updated news.
Until then,
Happy Autumn!

Yours In Art,
Gianne
